Proceedings

The Proceedings of ECMI 2018 will be published by Springer as part of the ECMI book subseries of Mathematics in Industry. All registered participants will have free access to the Proceedings e-book.

Publication of conference papers are restricted to contributions that have actually been presented at the conference either as an oral presentation or as a poster. Authors of regular papers (based on mini-symposia talks, contributed talks or posters) will be invited to submit a brief paper, 4 to 6 pages, in the format pre-defined by Springer Verlag, not later than 31th October 2018. Plenary speakers will be invited to submit a paper summarizing their talk in 6 to 8 pages.

All submissions have to be performed using the OCS system and they will undergo a standard reviewing process adopted for ECMI conferences. Papers accepted conditionally subject to minor revisions and actually revised will appear in the Proceedings volume.

Papers must be written in LaTeX using the Springer macro package provided for the ECMI book subseries. A collection of auxiliary files and documentation can be found here. As a minimum, the following files are necessary.

Following a tradition of ECMI Conferences and courtesy of Springer Verlag the authors of 15 top ranking papers submitted for the Proceedings will be invited to submit the extended version of their contribution for publication, up to 20 journal pages, in a special issue of Journal of Mathematics in Industry, a Springer Open Access journal, devoted to ECMI 2018. The selection will be based on the quality of the paper, in the light of recommendations and the evaluation of the Scientific Committee. Upon peer review, accepted papers will be published free of charge.
